Did everything you mentioned above. I got a problem to compile the
irdadump part of irda-utils-0.9.7. The ./configure script gives me
the following error message :

creating cache ./config.cache
./configure: line 524: syntax error near unexpected token `AM_INIT_AUTOMAKE(libi
rdadump,'
./configure: line 524: `AM_INIT_AUTOMAKE(libirdadump, 0.1)'

Using the autogen.sh script I get the following :

I am going to run ./configure with no arguments - if you wish
to pass any to it, please specify them on the ./autogen.sh command line.

What does that mean ?

Unfortunately I have no informations about the IrDA protocols used
by the Newton. The problem is that Apple stopped the development and
there are no informations available.

The only informations I have is a report by Bill Moser that he was
able to connect a Newton by IrDA to a Mac, using some Palm utilities.

If you have some time, can you please have a look at

http://misf67.cern.ch/~steve/sloup/connect.htm#IrDA

Perhaps youll see which protocol is used and what I have to select
with Linux-IrDA.

Best regards

Reinhold
