Hi,
Linux-2.2.14 + pre-patch-2.2.15-3 contains the very latest IrDA code. This
code is in fact newer than the 2.3.x code. This is very good news, since we
can finally get an end to all those large patches for the 2.2.x version of
Linux.
It contains a very updated and improved NSC driver which has been renamed
(again) from "nsc_fir" to "nsc-ircc", which confirms more to the smc driver
and avoids silly funtion names like nsc_fir_fir_interrupt and
nsc_fir_sir_interrupt (what was I thinking?).
It also contains a further developed SMC driver, which still needs some
work. I'm going to wrap it with CONFIG_EXPERIMENTAL and maybe even pull it
if we cannot make it work at all for FIR in a week or so.
The Airport dongle driver got pulled since it hasn't been fixed for the
latest code (still in 2.3.x).
So please try it out, and tell me if it's working or not. We will have to
remove all the stuff that we cannot fix immediately!! Send me your
complaints now!! Once 2.2.15 is out it's too late!!
