tried my gateway solo 9100 last night with the new irda-utils and
2.2.15pre3. my /etc/modules.conf has:
alias irda0 nsc-ircc
alias tty-ldisc-11 irtty
alias char-major-161 ircomm-tty
i ran 'irattach irda0 -s 1', and it didn't set up fully. in dmesg, it
says:
IrDA (tm) Protocols for Linux-2.2 (Dag Brattli)
nsc-ircc, Wrong chip version 16
and in /var/log/messages i have:
Jan 20 07:55:46 danube irattach: this is a fir device
Jan 20 07:55:46 danube irattach: executing: '/sbin/modprobe irda0'
Jan 20 07:55:46 danube kernel: IrDA (tm) Protocols for Linux-2.2 (Dag Brattli)
Jan 20 07:55:46 danube kernel: nsc-ircc, Wrong chip version 16
Jan 20 07:55:46 danube irattach: + /lib/modules/2.2.15pre3/misc/nsc-ircc.o:
init_module: Device or resource busy
Jan 20 07:55:46 danube irattach: Trying to load module irda0 exited with status 1
Jan 20 07:55:46 danube irattach: executing: 'echo 1 > /proc/sys/net/irda/discovery'
Jan 20 07:55:46 danube irattach: Setting discovery to 1 exited with status 1
Jan 20 07:55:46 danube irattach: this is a fir device
Jan 20 07:55:46 danube irattach: Starting device!
Jan 20 07:55:46 danube modprobe: can't locate module net-pf-23
i think the major problem is that nsc-ircc is failing in
nsc_ircc_setup on the chip version check... does anyone else have this
problem? is this check really important?
