Same problem with linux-2.3.49 and irda-utils-0.9.10, however.
After having a look at the irda specs at www.irda.org, I'm not sure
writing random bytes to /dev/ttyS1 is supposed to activate the leds.
If not, can anyone provide sample data that should do so ?
When I configure the Windows95 irda control panel for COM1 (RS232)
instead of COM2 (SIR port), I can read 0B 0B 0B 0B 0B 09 on the RS232
port (9600 8N1 ?). Does this look like regular irda or SIR commands ?
