Hello All,
I've just got an Asus P5A-B motherboard that has a stand off that has a
2xUSB, PS2 Mouse and an 8 pin round IR connector on it. It supports
(according to the BIOS 3 types of IrDA - SIR, IBM FIR, and HP FIR) and
according to the ALI webpage - www.acerlabs.com it supports IrDA 1.0 (SIR)
and IrDA 1.1 (MIR and FIR) as well as supporting Sharp-IR (whatever that
is).
Anyway I know this would be supported as a SIR device under Linux, but what
about FIR??
My other question is, about this 8 pin plug, I have a HP FIR IrDA connector
that came with a LaserJet 4050N that has the same plug as this, would this
work with this (as HP FIR maybe??) or would I need some other device??
I haven't had time to do any checking myself yet, but any suggestions would
be hany and if no current IrDA driver supports this I'll be happy to help
test/write a driver for it.
Regards
Peter
