You are on the adventurous side, aren't you ? Those kernel
crash for me all over the place without the need to run IrLAN.

The IrLAN code is not up to date with respect to the rest of
the stack, and Dag still hasn't tried any of those kernels. There has
been some recent change in the networking layer (I know, I had to
update my drivers) that are potentially deadly for IrLAN. I guess more
work for Dag.
Moreover, I did manage to find a race condition stuff in the
discovery code, and a few other nuggets in various places. All of that
is fixed in the patch available on my IrNET page. Dag told me he will
look into my patch "later". My IrDA stack was working perfectly as of
2.4.0-test1, but -ac21 is miles away from that :-(
However, my patch might not be enough to resurect IrLAN,
because it doesn't touch IrLAN itself. Therefore, I would advise you
to play with IrNET and report me the bugs.
