All,
Arghhh!!! Sometimes it works, and most of the time it doesn't and the
link ALWAYS DIES with a "IrLAP, no activity on link!" message. I have
been trying to figure this out now for months and am finally begging for
help. When it works, (and it's not urgent that I do anything
productive) it will work for hours and I can ftp files back and forth
from my Casio E-115 WinCE (gag) palmtop. When it need it really badly,
it always fails with that damn message- over and over and over... I
have been over all the documentation I can find- I have futzed with
network settings, timeouts, all sorts of crap and nothing seems to
improve the situation. I do not have this problem with my Ericsson i888
world phone- I can IrDA with that till the cows come home. I did have
less of this problem when I was using a Casio E-105, it was still bad.
I have tried repositioning the unit, I have tried doing it in the
dark... I have tried everything short of sacraficing a goat. I suppose
if that fails I can always go looking for virgins.
If anyone HAS DEFINITIVELY FIXED THIS PROBLEM please send me a note. I
am getting close to giving up on Linux IrDA altogether and making room
for a Windows parition! (which is sad, and totally pathetic)
