2.2.16 kernel doesn't have my patch, that's for sure. And the
af_irda.c is indeed the one of 2.4, where I do most of my development.
Without my patch, you can set names in IAS, but you can't
remove it and can't modify it, short of restarting the whole IrDA
stack. So, basically the first time you set your IAS object it works,
the second time it fails. That's why I mention that without my patch
it's not functional.
My patch add the ability to delete attribute, so you can
cleaup the IAS from all your junk and can modify attributes. The
modification of IAS were pretty deep but worth it.
