Hi guys...
I'm running linux kernel 2.2.17 on my Dell Dimension XPS 450, which works
great.
I've got a XTNDED Systems external IRDA 'dongle' ?! on my COM1 which I
activate using.

modprobe esi
irattach /dev/ttyS0 -d esi
irmanager -d 1

I've tried attaching the pppd daemon to /dev/ircomm0 and successfully
connected whith my palm V and
could telnet and fool around.
When I do an irdadump it detects my Palm V, Palm Vx, C-pen, Nokia 6110,
Nokia 8210.

Here to my problem!

When I run various perlscripts, gnokkii, minicom against /dev/ircomm0 I can
succesfully connect to my Nokia 8110. In minicom I even managed to read my
phonebook.
But if for som reason the IR-link "breaks" (I move the phone) in minicom,
the whole system hangs, and
I have to reboot it, by pressing the reset button.
It always happens when I try to connect whith gnokkii (here I don't even
have to "break" the link)
... and by cating or echoing stuff to /dev/ircomm0
I'm running the irda-utils-0.9.10-10.i386.rpm on a RedHat 6.2 system.

Am I missing something here ?
