You can get IrDa for PCs - just buy a serial dongle (about 35 quid) eg
Greenwich GirBil or Actisys are obtainable in UK easily. Use Obex for
programming - its easy and there is code (may be hard to find until the
IRDA pages have been moved completely). Palms are ok, and understand
obex natively, though they are a pain to program for. Have never used
WinCE devel tools. Psion is the other option at that sort of price.
It really doesnt take long to get something going using the example
codes. Also look at the archives for the Ultra protocol codes from
Jean at HP, which has Palm and Linux clients and servers.
