hello, I'm having fatal problems with IrDA on my PowerBook (model Pismo) which includes a Z8530 like infrared device. People on linux-ppc-devel have reported that IrDA works, but I haven't gotten it to work despite an effort of several hours. Basically, when you're supposed to get info on /proc/net/irda/discovery when the other irda device is getting contacted (I've tried with two different Ericsson phones, SH888 and R380s, which work on my workmate's laptop) but for me, nothing shows up on discovery! And yes, I've tried starting irattach with a '-s 1' parameter... I've turned on debugging info, and the thing which looks most worrying is something like this: irda_setup() timeout on 1st byte and this comes from macserial.c ... apparently it's z8530-specific code, dealing with initialization of the chip. Am I doing something wrong here? I *suppose* I should be getting info in /proc/net/irda/discovery even though I've only insmod'ed irda.o? I've also turned the /proc/sys/irda/discovery bit to 1. Any ideas? I'm really on my own here. (and yes, looked through all the kernel sources...) relevant info: Linux 2.2.17pre20 Debian 2.2 (potato) (irda-common 0.9.5) -topi _______________________________________________ Linux-IrDA mailing list - [EMAIL PROTECTED] http://www.pasta.cs.UiT.No/mailman/listinfo/linux-irda
