it is a pity that there are these problems.

for me it is ok, if linux-irda is not in the kernel and I would have to do
some patch in cause of irda.
I'm running debian.

usally I change the kernel (level) one time a year but only if I have to do
so. a compile (of the same level) in cause of changing needs occurs time to
time.

I would be sorry if I have to drop irda sometimes. my palm and my mobile
phone are supported well. I even had success with my irda-enabled digital
camera and at least a try with my printer would be nice.

I don't feel able to decide why the problems exist nor to say how to solve
the conflict, but for all, it has to make fun.
