hi!
If you attach the IrDA module to your phone, go into the menus of the phone and start
IrDA, I don't remember exaclty how, but consult the manual if you are unsure..
after that, well, you didn't write which kernel you are using so I'll try to give you
my standard solution that has so far never faild =)
get the latest 2.2 kernel.
compile IrDA support, with the irtty and ircomm modules.
also get the latest irda-utils (0.9.10)
compile both, and the insert the following modules:
irda
ircomm
ircomm-tty
irtty
then you compile the irattach program in the irda-utils package
after you have installed it on your laptop..
try to run irattach /dev/ttyS1 -s 1 this should get you up and runnig..
altough SuSE might have done much of this work..
try to turn on the IrDA on the phone and then check in /proc/net/irda/discovery
and see if the phone works...
at least this is how I got the Ericsson R320s to work om my Dell Inspiration 7500
good luck...
