Hi again,
I did split the huge patch into incremental patches. For my
patches, that was OK, because I kept the archives. The rest was a bit
more painfull. I also did goof up a few times (argh !!!).
But, the most important part is not so much the split itself,
it is the changelog. Dag, please start to issue ChangeLogs on a
regular basis, that will help us all. I will do that as well.
See the other e-mail for details...
An important note : split_irda23.diff is totally new, it was
lying in my tree, so please check that. See changelog for details ;-)
Also, I did remove the "irnet.diff" file. So this series of
patch is not *exactly* like your big patch.
For the fix of the change speed uglyness, I would advise you
to send it as an incremental patch to my serie of patches. And with a
Changelog. Just to make sure Linus is happy ;-)
Now, for 2.2 :
o IrNET can't work in 2.2.X, so I don't have any incentive
o The first 5 patches are already in 2.2.15.
o Of the later patches, a few should not be applied, because
kernels are differents.
o Somebody should feed them to Alan Cox after proper testing
Have fun, I'm going to bed...
Jean
