Hi Dag,

I've got the following hardware :
-----------------
Found NSC PC87338 Controller at 0x398, DevID=0x0b, Rev. 2
SIR Base 0x2f8, FIR Base 0x2f8
    IRQ = 3, DMA = 0
    Enabled: yes, Suspended: no
    UART compatible: yes
Half duplex delay = 0 us
-----------------
nsc-ircc, Found chip at base=0x398
nsc-ircc, driver loaded (Dag Brattli)
IrDA: Registered device irda0
nsc-ircc, Found dongle: Sharp RY5HD01
-----------------

I've got 2 laptops with exatly the same chip. Work fine in SIR
mode (if I use 'echo 115200 > /proc/sys/net/irda/max_baud_rate'), but
doesn't want to work in FIR mode.
I did back out my speed change patch, but it didn't do
anything, still refuse to work. As I don't have any "working" FIR
device, I can't really test what's wrong.
However, looking in the code, I did notice some comments
regarding the init of the 87338 which are not reflected in the init
function, and I've noticed that the Sharp dongle doesn't have any
special code when changing speed.

Do you have any idea ? Does it work for you ?

        Jean
