Unfortunately not - same here: neither S25 nor S35 detected (working with
some Sony Vaio SIR). Problem seems to be the VLSI82C147 deserves some
initialization in the PCI config space even to operate in SIR-mode.
Dag, are you still working on this? I learnt from your diary you started
to hack this sometime in summer '99. Is your patch-2.3.9-irda3 (containing
experimental V 0.1 of the eagle_eye.c driver) still the most recent one?
Any chance to get this stuff working under 2.4? Looking at the file it
suggests you've got access to some kind of documentation - is this
published somewhere or are you (still) under NDA?
Looking at your eagle_eye.c my impression is the main thing to get SIR
working would be (besides correct pci device setup) to start the clock PLL
and write some magic values into several registers - did you ever got it
operational? If there is some reasonable chance to get it right I could
try it, but I don't want to go into sth already proven to be a dead road.
Regards
Martin
