Hi,

It looks like nobody has experienced the trouble I reported some
days ago (message forwarded below). As far as I can tell, the
problem is systematic: every riocp-uploaded tune (mp3v1 - don't
know about ogg) gets its properties padded with trailing blanks.
When displayed in the Karma, these props systematically need
scrolling, even if they are as short as e.g., "Blues".

Is it only me that suffer from this trouble?

Best,
EV.

Subject: [linux-karma-devel] Trailing blanks in props derived from ID3 tags
    by libkarma

Hi,

While testing tune uploading with lkarmafs-0.2.0 I've noticed
that current libkarma version adds trailing blanks to
ID3-tag-based properties, up to the standard (v1) length of 30
chars. The resulting RK names of artists, albums, etc.
unexpectedly need scrolling to be properly shown in the RK
itself. But it is with lkarmafs that the impact becomes really
awful.

Tunes loaded into the RK using old libkarma versions don't have
this bad effect. Typically ID3(v1) taggers pad the fields with
nulls ('\0'), but it seems that current libkarma somehow converts
these nulls into blanks (' ').

Any idea as to when this (bug?) was introduced? Any idea for
fixing that?

Best,
EV.
