2.4.0t8 strangeness

On my /home partition, mkdir(2) is returning EIO on ext2fs for uid!=0.
Creating files with touch still works though. Persists after reboot,
forced e2fsck finds nothing wrong.

About to try test9-pre6 but thought I'd mention it.
