Hello everyone. This is my first bug report, so I took it step by step from https://www.kernel.org/pub/linux/docs/lkml/reporting-bugs.html. I tried contacting the driver maintainer for sdhci-pci, since this is where I think the problem originates, but there was no reply, so here I am.
[1.] One line summary of the problem: 100% kworker CPU usage on SD card insert [2.] Full description of the problem/report: When i insert a SD card into the SD slot of mu NUC6i5, a kworker uses up 100% of one core. It doesn't matter if the card is mounted or not, and this persists until a reboot. From perf it looks like some ACPI/IRQ stuff. The SD card works fine however.
