perhaps:

#define array_for_each(element, array) \
        for ((element) = (array); \
             (element) < ((array) + ARRAY_SIZE((array))); \
             (element)++)

#define array_for_each_index(index, array) \
        for ((index) = 0; (index) < ARRAY_SIZE((array)); (index)++)
