Odd. This has nothing at all to do with usb-storage. The "needs reinnit!" message means that an OHCI controller was in a reset state -- not running and not suspended -- when the suspend method was called. This happened with plain old 2.6.22-rc4-mm2? I'll try to reproduce it.
