this could also be written without the concatenations

                                     "expecting a 'help' section of 
$min_conf_desc_length or more lines\n" . $herecurr);
or maybe
                                     "please write a paragraph that describes 
the config symbol fully ($min_conf_desc_length or more lines)\n" . $herecurr);
