patch does not apply

There are two patches for the prerelease:
pub/linux/kernel/testing/prerelease-diff and
pub/linux/kernel/v2.4/patch-2.4.0-prerelease.tar.bz2.

The first does not fit to any of my kernels. Besides,
the newer testing kernels are not
accessible any more on www.kernel.org
