Why wrap in the middle of movw?  Wrapping between instructions or letting
the line poke out is more readable IMO, e.g.

                      "inl (%%dx), %%eax",                              \

or

        ALTERNATIVE_2("movw $" VMWARE_HYPERVISOR_PORT ", %%dx; inl (%%dx),
