Yes please, or maybe put the comment on the return line like:

        if (pdx->sCurrentState == U14ERR_TIME)
                return;                 /* Do nothing if hardware in trouble */

or above the test like:

        if (pdx->sCurrentState == U14ERR_TIME)
                return;
