IMO the bits are also magical, insofar as they get treated differently (e.g. RHEL kernels always get backports whereas Fedora ones often get updated altogether). If the bits weren't magical then I think people would simply run Fedora Core instead of creating RHEL rebuild projects. -Barry K.
