Hola: Sí, creo que Puppy te ayudaria. Primero tienes que ir con el cd de puppy a una maquina que sí tenga cdrom, booteas por el, instalas el puppy en la usb con el universal installer (todo muy intuitivo desde el menu de inicio), entonces te hace falta un floppy nuevo y el paquete de puppy que se llama wakepup2, en las ultimas versiones no viene en el sistema y tienes que descargarlo, pero en las versiones 2.y pico viene incluido en el sistema, este paquete te permite crear un floppy de inicio para el puppy, busca el sistema donde este, incluyendo la usb. Pon el floppy y la memoria en la Compaq, la pones a arrancar por el floppy y cruza los dedos, dice internet que para entrar al setup pruebes tambien con F10, a continuacion te pongo un mensaje que encontre que puede resultarte util. Para el DSL es mas o menos lo mismo, pero el paquete para hacer el floppy nunca lo he visto en el propio sistema, cuando corres la utilidad lo descarga de internet. Compaq used to put the setup utility on a special partition on the hard drive. If you ereased the HD, the computer still worked fine, but you couldn't make any changes to the settings (unless you had created the utilities diskette.) For the last several years, I think Compaq is doing things "normal" - the setup utility is no longer on the hard drive. Here's what I'd do: figure out how to get into the setup utility - F2, del key, whatever (it used to be F10 - I don't remember what Compaq uses now, but it shouldn't be too hard to figure out.) Check the settings. Power off, remove the HD, power on, check to see if you can still access the setup utility.
