linux-laptop listmembers,
Installed RedHat 6.0 on a Micron Trek2 Pent II laptop a few months
ago and have been learning at the exponential rate. However, I can't get
pcmcia running.
RPM kernel-pcmcia-cs-2.2.5 is loaded.
I have a 3Com 3CXEM556B Multifuntion card.
The SUPPORTED.CARDS file lists:
Multifunction ethernet/modem cards:
[3c589_cs driver]
3Com 3c562, 3c562B/C/D, 3c563B/C/D
3Com 3CCEM556, 3CXEM556
Motorola Marquis
[3c574_cs driver: driver is buggy]
3Com 3CCFEM556B
Do either of these work for a 556"B"?
I read pcmcia-howto, man5/pcmcia.5 and man4/pcmcia_core.4.
On startup, I see "Starting pcmcia [OK]"
I've implemented /etc/pcmcia/config, /etc/pcmcia/config.opts and
/etc/sysconfig/pcmcia changes from postings of similar machine
configurations.
When I run 'cardctl config' I get: "no pcmcia driver in
/proc/devices"
Do I need to download a newer pcmcia-cs-3.0.?.tar.gz ??
I am stuck on a Navy ship for the next 6 months. (This is a perfect
hobby) We have *very* limited internet access. Does anyone know if I have
the tools necessary on the RH 6.0 dist. to get this running?
