Yes, because dosemu doesn't have a necessary bios part for driving the parport. So you can't print using a direct access. Perhaps you can find some TSR which will substitute the relevant bios part, perhaps you can port the part of a Bochs bios to dosemu, but that all would be a pain. The easiest way would be to stick with lpr for printing. Besides, it is much more flexible (remote printing etc).
