I'm sorry if this has already been discussed; looked in the archives but didn't see it. I'm running an old version of dosemu: 1.1.3. My problem is that while it starts ok with the 2.6.5 kernel, when I try to run some (but not all programs) I get the following in my boot.log and dosemu immediately exits:
ERROR: Unknown format on /proc/meminfo ERROR: Unknown format on /proc/meminfo leavedos(5|0x5) called - shutting down I only really need dosemu any more for two programs, one of which still works ok with the 2.6.5 kernel. Everything works fine with 2.4.25 but I'd like to quit going back and forth between 2.4 and 2.6 kernels. I did put "mapfile" in the "mapping" entry in dosemu.conf and this did solve my problems with earlier 2.6 kernels. Given issues I had with getting my serial ports working and setup issues because I use my own mysdos-6.2 instead of freedos, it wasn't really fun setting this up in the first place so I don't want to have to install a new version unless I absolutely must do so. I installed from source originally (though don't now have the source on my machine) because the debian package then available was an even older version and didn't cooperate with my serial ports. I see that the current debian binary looks like an up-to-date version, but would require me to recustomize my configuration again and re-work the setup for my msdos partition. Certainly possible, but work I'd like to avoid if it's just for the sake of one program. Is there anything I can do in my current dosemu.conf to solve the problem or do I need to bite the bullet and upgrade? Thanks.
