I have Paradox 4.5 running fine here under dosemu 1.0.0.0 . The
only setting I had to change in the standard dosemu.conf file
was to set $_dpmi = (1024) from $_dpmi = (off).

I also had to run the paradox NUPDATE.EXE program and change the network
type to Other. I assume None would also work.

It is simplest to get working as root but will run as non-root so
long as the 'C:' drive is writable.

The only problem I have found is that directory listings within
paradox file dialogs sometimes lose all but 2 files in the directory
although the files can still be accessed if you know the names..
