ad b) internal IDE iomega zip 100 is supported by 2.0.35, but as atapi ide
floppy, not as cdrom. Compile your kernel kernel with ide floppy support
and you'll probably will have to run /usr/src/linux/scripts/MAKEDEV.ide 
to create correct nodes in /dev/. If your zip drive is e.g. /dev/hdc,
mount device /dev/hdc4 to do the work. I'm using fat and vfat zip disk and
it works fine.
