Nop. Port forwarding lets packets coming from one interface to leave from another
one. Redirection
(as redir and other software do) reroutes the packets destinated to a port to
another one; it can be on
the same host or on another.
Port forwarding does not need redirection to work.
Redirection , if it is to another host via a different interface, needs port
forwarding to work.
