I hoped there was some mystical way [LOL!!!! :-)] of deleting the files.
I've continually used the same method myself as you mentioned above. Except,
recently I discovered the mail processes noticed the mail had not delivered,
even though the files were wiped out. That's what lead me to use "sendmail
-bH." Any suggestions/advice?

I used sendmail.cw (in Red Hat, other OS exts. .st, ...) to make sure all
mail was dumped at the point of contact for the local domain. Inadvertently,
I kept any mail from dispersing onto its own host. I'll definitely follow
the procurement outlined in the above paragraph. If you have any other
suggestions - they would be more than welcome. Thank you!
