What did you try, and what happened?
Essentially, to dial out, you just type the pppd request.
There is not a lot more one can say without restating much that's
already in the man page, unless you have a quite specific problem.
The only script you need is a chat script of possibly four lines,
e.g.
"" ATZ
OK ATDT12345657
ogin: mypppaccount
ssword: mypassword
which you don't run, but give (it's path) as a parameter to the
pppd 'connect' option.
If you have pppd installed you can enter (at the shell prompt) 'man
pppd' and see some instructions which are almost completely
sufficient. Note that this is case-sensitive, i.e. 'MAN PPPD' won't
work.
Likewise, enter 'man chat' to find out about chat scripts. There
are reasons for a more elaborate one than the one I just gave, but
that one is enough to work and get you started.
If you are in X11, start xman and browse for 'pppd' and 'chat'.
The options you need to use (apart from the device and speed) are
connect, defaultroute, modem, crtscts and debug.
