Hello!

At boot time, I get some errors (spurious as it seems: my system works
perfectly...), which do not go into any log under /var/log.

I can just reproduce the first by hand with:

# cd /etc/rc.d/rc2.d
# ./S10network start
SIOCADDRT: Invalid argument
route: netmask doesn't match route address
Usage: route [-nNvee] [-FC] [Address_families] List kernel routing tables
route {-V|--version} Display command version and exit.
route {-h|--help} [Address_family] Usage Syntax for specified AF.
route [-v] [-FC] {add|del|flush} ... Modify routing table for AF.

  Address_families: inet,inet6,ddp,ipx,netrom,ax25
        specify AF: -A af1,af2.. or --af1 --af2 or af_route
#

And more specifically:

# cd /etc/sysconfig/network-scripts
# ./ifup ifcfg-lo
SIOCADDRT: Invalid argument
#

Could anyone shed some light over the problem (or why not the solution :-),
or direct me to the right place to report? I noticed the errors
after I installed patches on top of RH 5.1:

inuxconf-1.11r18-3rh.i386.rpm
kernelcfg-0.5-2.i386.rpm
SysVinit-2.74-4.i386.rpm

and it was not affected by my later upgrade to RH 5.2.

My system:

# uname -a
Linux mikko 2.0.36 #1 Tue Oct 13 22:17:11 EDT 1998 i586 unknown

RedHat 5.2
and from dmesg:

  eth0: 3c509 at 0x300 tag 1, 10baseT port, address 00 20 af c6 86 37, IRQ 10.
  3c509.c:1.16 2/3/98 [EMAIL PROTECTED]
eth0: Setting Rx mode to 1 addresses.

Best Regards!
Marc
