NFS and portmap not registered

I have :
    - kernel 2.2.0 pre7
    - nfs-server-clients 2.2beta37-1
    - portmap 4.0-12

When  I want to mount a NFS partition, a ftp server, I have this
message:
($:/home/samad)- mount ftp.lip6.fr:/  nfs_tmp
mount: RPC: le programme n'est pas enregistre.

Anybody can help me?
