Ok, I can buy that. Seeking confirmation or denial on that issue
was one of the reasons for my original post.
We have strategies we can use to preserve the intended ordering.

The only other point is that, in 2.2, this happens pretty commonly,
even when both ends of the connection are on the same unloaded machine.
Seems kind of surprising for it to be so easily provoked.
I've also seen reordering between machines, but only when at least
one of them is running 2.2. I guess the statistics are only in
my favor for older kernels :-)
Could something be "out of tune"?
