You can configure sendmail to forward non-local mail to another box
using the DS line in sendmail.cf, and to forward local mail to another
box using the DR line.
If you are using m4 to create your sendmail.cf, the corresponding
macros are SMART_HOST and LOCAL_RELAY respectively.
