...is what I get when I try to remove an arp entry that I added one second
before with:
arp -s <somehost> <my ethernet address> pub
I cannot seem to get rid of this entry nomatter what I do. Is this a bug?
The system is linux-2.2.1 on a Pentium 166. net-tools is 1.50 built from
the sources. All compiled with gcc2.7.2.3. I also got similar problems
using PPP on this system, which is why I went to delete the arp entry
manually in the first place.
The arp entry is undeletable AND doesn't work (ie doing a tcpdump shows no
arp replies from the box).
I am NOT arp'ing for a subnet here, which I have read is gone in
linux-2.2. I also tried 2 other verions of net-tools (1.46 and 1.50 as
rpm).
Can anyone
