Guys,
I have a 486 running Slackware 3.6 (2.0.35) with an SMC 1660BT ISA
Ethernet card. It is a jumperless card. Booting off a DOS floppy and
using the SMC setup disk, I set the IRQ to 10, which doesn't conflict with
anything else.
For some reason, the card is being assigned IRQ 3 which is conflicting
with my serial port. I tried to manually assign the IRQ at the lilo
prompt, but it didn't take the change (as in the Ethernet-HOWTO).
Also, I tried to add this line (ether=10,0,0,0,eth0) into my lilo.conf
file, but it came back with an error.
Here is a some of the startup info:
.
tty00 at 0x03f8 (irq = 4) is a 16450
tty01 at 0x02f8 (irq = 3) is a 16450
.
