I have succesfully
creating a tiny network consisting of 2 computers. My Linux machine dials
my isp on ppp0. I linked my 98 box using ipfwd and masquerade.
I can ping each machine from the other, and each
have routing to the net..
However, I am a big IRC user and use DCC chat
often..Effectively this is just a telnet session established between 2 ip's on
irc. While on the 98 box i cannot connect to anyone, however on the linux
box it works fine. So I thought it might be my rules, so i set them all to
"allow" ie:
/sbin/ipfwadm
-F -l -n
IP firewall forward rules, default policy: accept/masquerade
IP firewall forward rules, default policy: accept/masquerade
/sbin/ipfwadm -I -l -n
IP firewall input rules, default policy: accept
IP firewall input rules, default policy: accept
/sbin/ipfwadm -O -l -n
IP firewall output rules, default policy: accept
IP firewall output rules, default policy: accept
Still no fix...is my configuration
garbled..? Or does ipfwd not have support for initiating dcc's behind the
firewall machine...
