I'm running RedHat 5.1. I have had the box up and running for about 5
months with no problems. The other day, messages started appearing
about not being able to load 'net-pf-4' and 'net-pf-5.' I traced these
messages back to having something to do with socket protocols, and the
kerneld not being able to load the modules.

My questions are:
    1. What are protocols 4 and 5?

    2. Why would the kerneld begin to attempt to load these modules?

Like most people, "I didn't change anything on my system. " :) Well,
nothing that I can think of that would have
effected my networking.

These messages appear to be just that. I am not experiencing any
difficulties, that I'm aware of. But I'm very curious since I'm quite a
paranoid individual.

Thanks in advance.
