Why is it that whenever I tried to connect to an ftp server, it returned: Connected to <some ip> Connection closed by remote host. This is especially true if the server where the ftp service resides just come out of the box. I normally solve this problem by taking a short cut i.e. by installing wu-ftp rpm without knowing the root of the problem. It normally solves the problem on RedHat 5.x but it failed on Linux Mandrake 5.3. What exactly is the problem and how can I solve that?
