Hi ,
I'm using the ORACLE names server on linux (RH 5.2 ) and once the
names server is started the port 1575 is occupied. However once the names
server is started , the port is not released , and when the names server
is started up consequently , after a shutdown it mentions that the port is
already bound to an existing process
Also
 fuser -n tcp 1575
shows up with no pid's
So , the purpose of my above explanation is that , is it possible to
release a particular port in case the process listening on it has hung ..
In my case killing the process has NOT released the port ...

Thanks in advance

Sandesh
