Heyya,
I was wondering what would it take to make linux do the following :
Firewall F has two interfaces to the net : ppp0[1.1.1.1] and eth1[2.2.2.2]
it also does masqing for internal network on eth0[192.168.1.1] and of
course has loopback lo[127.0.0.1].
the following is desirous; how can one achieve it ?
o All connections from 192.168.1.* are MASQed and routed out through eth1.
o All connections coming in to F via ppp0 are answered back through ppp0
and All connections coming in to F via eth1 are answered back through eth1
What should be the ipchaining set like ? (I have some idea, but maybe
wrong.)
What should be the routes set like ? (<-- I had trouble here. Either
the default route was through ppp0, and then incoming requests through
eth1 were going back out through ppp0 / didn't go out at all, or vice
versa. I could never figure out how to setup routing, so that second
requirement (see above) would work.)
Thanx a bunch,
Jan
