I'd like to create a local network at home which would allow me to use
an
older machine to be a tape/printer server. I'd like to use a newer
machine
to connect to the internet through a modem and allow other machines
connected to it through an ethernet connection to have internet access.
Can I just use ethernet network interface cards like 3c905's between the
machines which I have at home, or is there some special interface or
backbone (I'm not sure what I'm talking about here, if it is not
obvious)
I need to drive the ethernet cable from one of the machines to do this.
Is there a document or can somebody on this list provide instructions as
to how I could do this?
Thanks in advance!
