I must have given the impression I had newly installed RH.. Not so.
I've had redhat running on a dual boot setup since 4.2 was current 10-12
mnths or so, and have upgraded when 5.0 came out and 5.1. I'm only
running a stand alone homeboy setup, and just for personal use,
nothing commercial going on. So have't had to learn anything about
Networks.
What is new is getting my wife her own setup (since I hog this one up
all the time [it was supposed to be for her too hehe]...) And now
wanting to connect them.

The SCO is a recent project, just an experiment really. I like
experimenting with other stuff. I've installed `Slackware and
`FreeBSD' in that same slot before. Found them both not to stack up
well against RedHat. Esp. FreeBSD which seems to delight in using
non-standard stuff.
I've about had a belly full of SCO too. Seems to be a real dog
compared to RH and requires more reboots than win95. But will stay
with it a while more so I know it isn't just newbie bumbling.
SCO doen't use modules so any changes, unless very minor require a
full kernel link and rebuild. And of course a reboot.
I've been tinkering with SCO for about 2wks and have yet to get a
successfull ppp link set up. Really makes you see the value in Redhats
method of having some basic stuff easily setup.
On my setup RH has its own 3.2 GB disk, all the experiments are carved
out of another HDD with windows95 on it also 3.2GB.
So for a homeboy setup I have plenty of space. Now my wifes computer
came with an 8GB drive.. I secretly have my eye on that, once the
network is in place....hehe
14GB of disk space ought to hold one small family eh?
