Hello,

I've got a comp with 2 NIC's in it (3c905B) and brcfg running.
This setup doesn't work but there's something I don't understand.
When I run ifconfig, I get the following output (eth0 = small net, eth1 = rest
of network)

eth0      Link encap:Ethernet  HWaddr 00:10:5A:E2:41:14
          inet addr:127.0.0.1  Bcast:127.255.255.255  Mask:255.255.255.0
          UP BROADCAST RUNNING PROMISC MULTICAST MTU:1500 Metric:1
          RX packets:0 errors:0 dropped:0 overruns:0 frame:0
          TX packets:4047 errors:0 dropped:0 overruns:0 carrier:4047
             ============                               ============
          collisions:0

eth1      Link encap:Ethernet  HWaddr 00:10:5A:E2:6F:EE
          inet addr:157.193.98.18  Bcast:157.193.98.255  Mask:255.255.255.0
          UP BROADCAST RUNNING PROMISC MULTICAST MTU:1500 Metric:1
          RX packets:1100114 errors:17 dropped:0 overruns:0 frame:22
          TX packets:4836 errors:0 dropped:0 overruns:0 carrier:18
          collisions:282

What is this carrier and why is it the same as the number of TX-packets?

cheers
