I know that this has probably been answered several times before, but I
would appreciate any help that I can get on this.

I am running a 2.2.1 kernel (Debian) box that I wish to make act as a
bandwidth-limiting router (for the ISP side of the company that I work for.)
I am using a script I found called cbq.init to do this. Basically it uses
the "tc" "ip" and "rtmon" commands to set up rules and limits on the
bandwidth that can pass between two network interfaces in the box. However,
when I try to run this, I get the message:

RTNETLINK error: Invalid argument

10 times scrolling down the display. I have checked the kernel config file,
and CONFIG_NETLINK, CONFIG_RTNETLINK, and CONFIG_NETLINK_DEV are all set to
Y. I'm actually kind of afraid to connect anything to the other side of
this router :-) until I find out what might be causing these errors.

Any ideas?

TIA,
